Reference Selection and Source Validation

To perform a controlled switching operation, the function requires a valid reference signal against
which the optimal point-on-wave control must be achieved.
The function block interfaces for receiving voltage and current signal related processed data, as
provided by the ANGSCAL function, are described in
Table 40:

CURREFOK
The reference signal for any controlled switching operation can be:
1.
Source voltage for a controlled closing operation
2.
Either source voltage or load current for a controlled opening operation
The reference for an open operation described above can be selected by setting OpenRef as shown
in
Table
Table 41:

OpenRef
Any selected reference signal is validated to be healthy, that is, suitable as reference for controlled
switching before being used. If the reference signal cannot be used, reference missing condition is
declared, and switching is either bypassed or blocked according to the ContingencyMode setting
(see below). The function obtains status information of the healthiness of source at its inputs
VOLREFOK or CURREFOK from other functions (usually ANSGPROC) and uses this information for
its reference selection.
