Section 14
Basic IED functions
14.6.6
Operation principle
The Change lock function (CHNGLCK) is configured using ACT.
The function, when activated, prevents changes to application configuration and settings. However, it
will still allow the following changes of the IED state that do not involve reconfiguring of the IED:
•
Monitoring
•
Reading events
•
Resetting events
•
Reading disturbance data
•
Clear disturbances
•
Reset LEDs
•
Reset counters and other runtime component states
•
Control operations
•
Set system time
•
Enter and exit from test mode
•
Change of active setting group
The binary input signal LOCK controlling the function is defined in ACT or SMT:

The change lock functionality can temporarily be disabled/overridden using the Maintenance menu.
Go to Maintenance menu /Recovery Menu(Password Protected) /Turn off Change-lock
(Temporary) to disable or override the functionality.
Turning off the change-lock overrides the change lock function until the next reboot of the IED. In this
case, the change-lock function cannot be activated, which is indicated by the OVERRIDE output
(value 1).
