1.7.1 Clear CMOS/RTC/Password

NOTE
The BIOS has the capability of password protecting casual access to the unit's CMOS setup screens.
The CMOS Clear switch allows the user to clear the password in the case of a forgotten password.
This also clears all CMOS settings and restores factory defaults.
To clear the CMOS password:
1.  Turn off power to the unit.
2.  Install jumper at E502, pins 3‐4.
3.  Wait approximately five seconds.
4.  Remove jumper from E502, pins 3‐4.
5.  Power up the unit.
When power is reapplied to the unit, the CMOS password will be cleared, and the
CMOS will be set to its defaults.  For conduction‐cooled options, E502 is not
loaded.  To clear the CMOS, perform the steps outlined above, except short across
the pads of R1065 at step 2.

1.7.2 BIOS Setup

The SBC622 has an onboard BIOS Setup program that controls many
configuration options. These options are saved in a special non‐volatile, battery‐
backed memory chip and are collectively referred to as the board's CMOS
Configuration. The CMOS contents are preserved as long as battery power is
applied to the VBAT pin on the VPX backplane. The CMOS configuration controls
many details concerning the behavior of the hardware from the moment power is
applied. The CMOS clear switch clears BIOS settings to factory defaults.
Details of the SBC622 BIOS setup program are included in Appendix B: BIOS
Setup Utility.
NOTE
The BIOS referred to in this Manual is an EFI BIOS.
CAUTION
Battery backup of critical CMOS settings is provided by the system via the VBAT
signal on the VPX backplane. If the board is removed from the backplane, these
settings will be lost.
