Definitions of Common Terms

A LAN that uses radio links to connect portable devices, such as

notebook computers, to a wired network. Access points connected to

an Ethernet hub or server transmit over a radius of several hundred

feet, enabling users to roam from one access point to another without

dropping the connection.
