Installing and Replacing Other Components
To set up a modem with the IP500 Series appliance
1. Orient the modem cable-connector port as shown in
the Nokia-approved modem into either the top or bottom PCMCIA slot
until the modem clicks into place.
Note
Do not install more than one modem card into the PCMCIA sockets at
any one time.
The modem and the ejector on the left of the slot protrude from the
appliance. The appliance automatically recognizes the modem.
2. Whether or not the modem is factory installed, connect the modem to a
phone line.
Use a cable that is appropriate for the modem and for the telephone
system in the country in which you will use the device.
3. Use Voyager to configure the modem connection:
a. Click Network Access and Services.
b. Under Modem, ensure that Allow PCMCIA says Yes.
c. From the drop-down menu, select the country in which you will use
d. Confirm, apply, and save the information you entered.
e. Exit Voyager.
