Troubleshooting
Unable to connect to Voyager using network port
Problem You are using the wrong network cable.
Solution Use a crossover Ethernet cable if you are connecting directly to
the computer. Use a straight-through cable if you are connecting to a hub.
Problem The port is not enabled.
Solution View the port in Lynx through the console port and verify that the
interface is configured as active and up.
Problem The host port configuration is incorrect.
Solution Check host Ethernet port settings. Verify that IP address and
netmask settings are correct for the appliance configuration.
Problem The link speed is wrong.
Solution Verify that the port on the host and the port on the IP500 Series
appliance are set for the same speed (10 Mbps/100 Mbps). A solid data-
activity LED on a port indicates a speed mismatch.
Problem The duplex setting is wrong.
Solution Correct the duplex setting (full/half). Hubs use half duplex
settings. Switches use full duplex settings.
