Choose an administrative password you will use to access the appliance.
The same rules apply to passwords as to hostnames. However, passwords
must be at least six characters long.
Determine whether you will use Voyager (Web-based) or Lynx (text-
based) to complete the configuration.
Identify the number of the port to which you connected a cable. You also
need to know the IP address of this port.
You are now ready to use the system startup utility to configure the appliance
and the network connection.

Using the System Startup Utility

System startup is part of the IPSO software that is built into the IP500 Series
appliance. When you turn on the IP500 Series appliance for the first time, the
console or terminal screen displays miscellaneous information (such as
memory checks). After a short period, system startup automatically begins
and prompts you to:
Enter a hostname
Establish a password for the admin account
Choose a browser type
Enter initial configuration information
Confirm the setup
Entering the Hostname
To enter a hostname
1. At the Hostname? prompt, enter the hostname for the device.
2. At the prompt, confirm your entry.
