Interface Problems

Local appliance ports do not appear in Voyager
Problem Your appliance might be defective.
Solution Contact Nokia Customer Support. For information about
contacting Nokia Customer Support, see

No link light appears when you connect the port
Problem You might have used the wrong cable.
Solution Use a crossover cable between the IP500 Series appliance and a
host, and a straight-through cable between the appliance and a hub.
Activity light is continuously on
Problem The port speed might be incorrect.
Solution Make sure that the speeds on each end of the Ethernet connection
are the same (10 Mbps or 100 Mbps).
Problem The port is not enabled.
Solution Make sure that the interface is configured as active on the
Voyager Interface page.
High collision rate on the hub
Problem One or more connections has a problem.
Solution To localize the problem, disconnect the network cables one at a
time until you identify the cable and devices that might be contributing to the
problem. Then further troubleshoot the cable and the devices.
