NOTE: This section provides the procedure for remov-
ing and installing the cutting reel assembly (cutting reel,
spline inserts, grease seals and bearings) from the cut-
ting unit.
NOTE: Refer to Reel Assembly Service later in this sec-
tion for information on replacing cutting reel grease
seals, bearings and spline inserts.
NOTE: Removal of the cutting reel requires removal of
the left side plate from the cutting unit frame. The right
side plate does not have to be removed from the frame.

Reel Assembly Removal (Fig. 33)
1. Position machine on a clean and level surface, lower
cutting units, stop engine, engage parking brake and re-
move key from the ignition switch.
2. Remove the cutting unit from the machine and place
on a flat work area.
