Zones and neighbors
Setting Description
SIP UDP/IX Determines whether INVITE requests sent to this zone filter out
filter mode UDP/UDT/IX or UDP/DTLS/UDT/IX. This option may be required to enable
interoperability with SIP devices that do not support the UDP/UDT/IX or
UDP/DTLS/UDT/IX protocol.
On: any media line referring to the UDP/UDT/IX or UDP/DTLS/UDT/IX
protocol is replaced with RTP/AVP and disabled.
Off: INVITE requests are not modified.
We recommend that SIP UDP/IX filter mode is set to On for:
business-to-business calls routed through neighbor zones that connect
n
to external networks / non-Cisco infrastructure
calls that connect internally to Unified CM 8.x or earlier (use Off for 9.x or

later)
SIP Duo Determines whether INVITE requests sent to this zone filter out Duo Video.
Video filter This option may be required to enable interoperability with SIP devices
mode that do not support Duo Video.
On: the second video line in any outgoing INVITE request is removed.
Off: INVITE requests are not modified.
SIP record Controls whether the VCS uses its IP address or host name in the record-
route route or path headers of outgoing SIP requests to this zone.
address type
IP: uses the VCS's IP address.
Hostname: uses the VCS's System host name (if it is blank the IP address
is used instead).
SIP Proxy- A comma-separated list of option tags to search for and remove from Proxy-
Require Require headers in SIP requests received from this zone.
header strip
list
Include Determines whether, if no NAPTR (SIP) or SRV (SIP and H.323) records
address have been found for the dialed alias via this zone, the VCS will then query
record for A and AAAA DNS records before moving on to query lower priority
zones. If A and AAAA records exist at the same domain for systems other
than those that support SIP or H.323, this may result in the VCS believing
the search was successful and forwarding calls to this zone, and the call
will fail.
On: the VCS queries for A or AAAA records. If any are found, the VCS will
not then query any lower priority zones.
Off: the VCS will not query for A and AAAA records and instead will
continue with the search, querying the remaining lower priority zones.
