    Troubleshooting This appendix provides solutions to problems that may occur during the installation and operation of the SPA9000 Voice System. The SPA9000 did not automatically assign an extension number to the Cisco SPA IP Phone, and the phone Ext LED is yellow instead of green.

You cannot perform a firmware upgrade from a computer that is connected to the phone that you are upgrading. The phone reboots several times during the upgrade process, and as a result the firmware cannot be retrieved from the computer.
