Configuring Parameterized Services

Configuring Parameterized Services
To configure parameterized services, configure the Cisco VSAs described in the following sections:

Activating and Deactivating Services

RADIUS uses Cisco VSA 250 in Access-Accept messages and VSA 252 in CoA messages to activate
and deactive parameterized services. When activating a service, VSA 250 and 252 have the following
syntax:
252 binary 0b suffix ''RateLimitAccounting''
When deactivating a service, RADIUS sends the same information in VSA 252 that was used for service
activation, except that service deactivation uses 0c in the VSA instead of the 0b parameter used for
service activation. VSA 252 has the following syntax for service deactivation:
252 binary 0c suffix ''RateLimitAccounting''

Cisco VSAs used for parameterized services do not support all QoS actions and do not support all
variations of the supported actions. For information on the supported actions, see the
Actions" section on page
5-5.
To avoid traceback messages, do not use static and dynamic QoS policy solutions simultaneously.
If you use both strings, the router rejects the message.
QoS policy does not support rollback if applied on a target session or subinterface.
The acceptable length of a RADIUS message is 255 bytes.
In the running configuration file, original configured policies are visible; parameterized cloned
policies are invisible.
The maximum accepted value in a parameterized QoS services command (CoA or Access-Accept)
for shape, bandwidth, or police is 4294967295. Any greater value is rejected.
If a valid CLI-configured QoS policy is forwarded through CoA to a new session and fails
(QoS policy is applied to an incorrect direction), then:
BRAS does not wait for the hardware to be provisioned
An ACK message is relayed.
QoS policy is not applied.
Traceback messages are observed.
