QoS Service Accounting

Configuration Example of Per-Service Accounting

The following configuration example allows multiple services in a single Access-Accept message and
enables session accounting for the services. The example also enables RADIUS to authorize the
subscriber to access the services.
subscriber service multiple-accept
QoS Service Accounting
The QoS Service Accounting feature enables the RADIUS server to track QoS changes for each service.
In response to the ISG request for service access, the RADIUS server sends an Access-Accept or change
of authorization (CoA) message, which includes one or more ISG service policies and any QoS vendor
specific attribute (VSA) configured in the RADIUS service profile. The ISG starts the QoS services for
the session and enables QoS service accounting by replicating the QoS VSA (received from RADIUS)
in a Service-Accounting-Start message, which it sends to the RADIUS server so that QoS service
accounting can begin.
Service accounting must be configured on the ISG for a service before QoS accounting can occur. The
ISG replicates the QoS VSA in the service accounting record as described in the next paragraph.
If the Access-Accept or CoA message:
For example, consider the following Access-Accept message from the RADIUS server:
Cisco-AVPair(9,250):
"ISG-service1"
Cisco-AVPair(9,250):
"ISG-service2"
Cisco-AVPair(9,1):
"qos-policy-out=add-class(sub,(class-default),shape(9000000))"

Includes an ISG service and a QoS VSA, the ISG replicates the QoS VSA in the service accounting
record.
Includes multiple ISG services and a QoS VSA, the ISG replicates the QoS VSA in the service
accounting record of the first-started ISG service included in the RADIUS message. For example,
if both service1 and service 2 are included in the RADIUS message and the accounting start record
for service1 is sent before the accounting start record for service2, and both services have service
accounting configured on the ISG, then the ISG replicates the QoS VSA in the accounting start
record for service1.
Does not include ISG services, but does include a QoS VSA, the ISG does not replicate the QoS
VSA in the service accounting record.
Does not include ISG services, but does include a QoS VSA for both input and output traffic, the
ISG replicates the QoS VSA in the service accounting record for both input and output services.
Configured for ISG-service1, the router replicates the QoS VSA in the service accounting start
record for ISG-service1.
