Recording IRIG-B Time Code Signal
Playback IRIG-B Time Code Signal
When an IRIG-B time code signal is input to the recorder in the E-E, REC-PAUSE or REC
mode, the EXT LED light. And "001" to be displayed and start blinking.
IRIG-B time code is loaded to the recorder's realtime clock when IRIG-B time code is
synchronized to the recorder's realtime clock.
When recording starts, the IRIG-B time code signal input to the AUX analog channel is
recorded on the tape along with the main data.
Also, the recorder's realtime clock to which the IRIG time has been loaded changes to the
S-TIME (xxYxxMxxD/xxHxxMxxS), and is recorded on the tape along with the main
data. This information can be used as accurate position data for search, playback and data
transfer.
Note
• When the IRIG-B time code signal is detected by the recorder, it takes a maximum of
5 seconds for the AUX2 LED to light.
As the sync of this signal is a cycle per minute, it takes one minute at maximum for the
EXT TC LED to light up.
• Being properly detected, the 3-digit date (001 to 366) of the IRIG-B time code data is
converted to "-YxxMxxD" (normal year) and combined with the year value "xxY" of
the recorder's realtime clock at the time or recording to form the S-TIME information
(xxYxxMxxD).
• When the IRIG time has been loaded to the realtime clock, the clock proceeds at crystal
accuracy when the IRIG-B time code signal is removed.
• When being input a signal, AUX2 outputs regardless of E-E or STOP mode.
When a tape recorded with a IRIG-B time code signal in the AUX-2 (IRIG) channel is
played back, the EXT TC LED lights.
Further, the raw IRIG-B time code signal recorded on the tape can be output from the
AUX-2 (IRIG-B) OUT connector on the rear panel, and can be read by an IRIG time code
reader.
For the T-TIME information in the tape position display area during playback, the
recorder's realtime clock value (xxYxxMxxD/xxHxxMxxS) recorded on the tape is
displayed. This value corresponds to the IRIG time recorded on the tape.
