!¶ RANGE key
Press this key to select the RANGE (range setting) mode.
In the RANGE mode, the input range for the recording amplifier can be switched for
each channel.
Range values ±0.5 Vpk, ±1 Vpk, ±2 Vpk, ±5 Vpk, ±10 Vpk, ±20 Vpk
There are two types of RANGE mode, M-RANGE (manual range setting) mode and
A-RANGE (automatic range setting) mode.
• Press only this key to select the M-RANGE (manual range setting) mode. The "M"
LED to the upper left of the key blinks. At the same time, the range values for the
channels to be set blink on the LCD screen.
Select the range values using the 8 or 9 key.
Switch the channel to be set using the ; or : key.
Note
To set the optimum input range for input signals that include unnecessary DC
components, it is advisable to set the input DC offset in advance.
• When the RANGE key is pressed after pressing the SHIFT key, the A-RANGE
(automatic range setting) mode results and the "A" LED to the upper right of the key
blinks.
In the A-RANGE mode, the range for each channel is set automatically according
to the level of the input signal. Press this key again to enter the range settings for each
channel according to these measurements.
!• OFFSET key
Press this key to select the OFFSET (offset setting) mode. In the OFFSET mode,
unnecessary DC components included in the input signal are eliminated, thus improving
resolution of the dynamic signal. The offset values can be set for each channel.
Offset value ±100%, in 1% increments/decrements
There are two types of OFFSET mode, M-OFFSET (manual offset setting) mode and
A-OFFSET (automatic offset setting) mode.
• Press only this key to select the M-OFFSET (manual offset setting) mode. The "M" LED
to the upper left of the key blinks. At the same time, the offset values (top four digits in
the tape position display area) for the channels to be set blink on the LCD screen.
Select the offset values using the 8 or 9 key.
Switch the channel to be set using the ; or : key.
• When the OFFSET key is pressed after pressing the SHIFT key, the A-OFFSET
(automatic offset setting) mode results and the "A" LED to the upper right of the key
blinks.
In the A-OFFSET mode, the DC components of the input signal are calculated and
canceled by automatically adding the required DC offset to the input signal. Press
this key again to calculate the DC components from the peak values detected so far,
enter the DC offset setting, and exit the A-OFFSET mode.
