Loading a Cartridge

Set the STAND BY switch to ON, and check that the POWER LED lights.

Open the cartridge lid by pulling it forward with your finger.

Insert the cartridge. Press at the location indicated by the arrow in the following
illustration. Once the cartridge is pressed part-way in, it is loaded automatically.
During loading the LOADING LED blinks; when loading is completed, the LED lights
continuously.
Note
If the cartridge is not equipped with MIC, loading and unloading may take a longer
time.

Close the cartridge lid by pressing it with your finger.

CAUTION
• The film of the cartridge insertion slot prevents dust from entering into the tape transport
portion, therefore be sure not to peel it off.
• Pressing the cartridge too strongly may cause malfunctions or damage to the tape
transport.
• The cartridge cannot be loaded when the main power is off.
• The cartridge cannot be loaded when the mechanical malfunction error code is displayed
on the LCD screen. In this case, set the STAND BY switch to OFF, then ON again, and
try loading once more.
