Setting the Tape Speed (SPD)

Set the tape speed by pressing the SPD/BCM, ; and : keys. The recording times for the
corresponding tape speeds are as follows:

To select the M-RANGE (manual range setting) mode, press the RANGE key.

Press the ; or : key to select the channel.

Press the 8 or 9 key to select one of the input ranges below:

The left and right arrows in the table below indicate the direction of change when the key
is pressed.
Note
For example, the 20 V range is the range where the bar meter scale is ±100% or 0 dB when
the input voltage is +20 Vpk, –20 Vpk, or ±20 Vpk. The same applies to other values.
Automatic (After setting to E-E or REC-PAUSE mode)

To select the A-RANGE (automatic range setting) mode, press the SHIFT key and then
the RANGE key.

The peak value of the input level for each channel is automatically detected and held.
The relationship between the input levels and setting ranges are as shown below.

Press the RANGE key once after the barmeter shakes, is set the input ranges for all
channels corresponding to the last peak values being held.
