16-3 Connecting to the SIR-1000W

Using the Combining Frames

Turn OFF the main power to the SIR-1000W.

Remove the cover for the OPTION SLOT 2 of the rear panel of the SIR-1000W by
loosing two +3×20 screws, then insert the supplied connection board in the OPTION
SLOT 2 and tight two +3×20 screws.

Use the expansion cable (supplied) to connect the EXPANSION OUT connector of the
connection board mounted in the rear of the SIR-1000W and the EXPANSION IN
connector of the SCX-16W.

Turn ON the SIR-1000W's power.

Using the supplied combining frames (four in all for the front, rear, left and right) to
attach the SIR-1000W and SCX-16W facilitates carrying and fixing to a base.

CAUTION
• When using the SIR-1000W with an external DC power supply of less than 15 V, be
sure to supply power directly from the same power supply to the SCX-16W. Note that
when using the SIR-1000W with an AC power supply, the battery pack or an external
DC power supply of 15 V or more, power is supplied to the SCX-16W via the
recorder.
• The expansion extension cable (SDK-10: sold separately) cannot be used.
Before use
To attach combining frames, use 12 hexagonal socket head bolts (4 × 16) on th e front, rear,
left and right sides of the SIR-1000W and SCX-16W. These bolts also attach the left and
right side frames of the SIR-1000W and SCX-16W, so do not attach or remove the
combining frame all at once, but one side at a time in order.
