How to Connect the Telephone

Connect your telephone and the TEL socket on the

adapter.
Make sure the end of cord is pressed firmly into the socket.
When connecting the extension telephone, do not use
the TEL socket on the machine. Instead, use the TEL

socket on the adapter supplied with the facsimile
expansion kit.

Set the extension telephone with a user program.
Set the extension telephone user program to "ON". (See page
Appendix-8)
Please use a modular socket type extension telephone.
If you have a phone with a different type of cord, inquire

at the place where you bought your phone, or at a
SHARP dealer.

How to Use an Extension Telephone

[When conversing]
You can make calls and receive calls as you would on any telephone.
If the fax function is set to auto reception, pick up the telephone before fax
transmission begins.
The number of rings before fax reception begins is
initially set to two. You can change the number of rings

(0 to 9 rings) with a user program. (See page
Appendix-12)
When you pick up the extension phone there is no
sound when a fax is being sent or received. Please
replace the handset.
[When receiving a fax]
After conversing on the extension phone, you can receive a fax. This is called
remote reception. After you finish conversing, perform the following operation
when you hear the fax tone.
You cannot use this function when you make a telephone call. (If you receive a
telephone call you can use this function.)
