PROCEDURE BEFORE OPERATION
The following section shows the procedure until operation.
1.
Mounting modules on a base unit
Install the programmable Controller CPU and SECS/GEM communication software pre-installed model module on the base
module.
For the installation on the base module, refer to the following:
Module to be used
C intelligent function module
C Controller module

Wiring of equipment
Connect the SECS/GEM communication software pre-installed model module, personal computer, and other network
equipment.
3.
Installation of a setting tool
Install a setting tool on a personal computer.
For the installation method, refer to the following:

Setting a firewall
When a Windows firewall is enabled and is set not to allow communication with the setting tool, communication may fail and a
timeout may occur.
To allow communication, set a firewall by the following procedure:

When using other security software with a firewall function, refer to the manual of the software used and allow the
communication with the setting tool.
5.
Setting parameters
Configure the parameters of the programmable controller CPU and the SECS/GEM communication software pre-installed
model module.
For the setting method of the parameters, refer to the following:

Network settings
Configure the network parameters.
For the configuration method, refer to the following:

SECS/GEM communication settings
Use the setting tool to configure the transaction information, communication settings, and device assignment settings

*1 The SECS/GEM communication software (GEM version and GEM advanced version) has pre-registered variables defined by default.
For the storage register, "CPU-1" and "D0 device" are set temporarily.
Review these variable definitions and apply them to the device assignment settings.
8.
Setting update
Update the setting file stored on the SECS/GEM communication software pre-installed model module.
