Fuel Pressure Regulator

Do not smoke during the test. Keep open
tlames away lrom your work area.
1. Attach the special tool(s) to the service pon on the
f u e l f i l t e r ( s e e p a g e s 1 1 ' 1 5 0 , 1 5 1 ) .
Pressure should be:
260 - 310 kPa {2.7 - 3.2 kgf/cm', 38 - 46 psi}
{with the fuel pressure regulator vacuum hose
disconnected and pinched)

R e c o n n e c t t h e v a c u u m h o s e t o t h e f u e l p r e s s u r e
regulator.
Check that the fuel pressure rises when the vacuum
hose from the fuel pressure regulator is disconnected
a g a I n .

Do not smoke while working on fuel sys-
tem. Keep opsn llame away from your work area.
1. Place a shop towel under the fuel pressure regulator,
then relieve fuel pressure (see pages 11-150, 151).

Disconnect the vacuum hose and fuel return hose.
3.
Remove the two 6 mm retainer bolts and the fuel
pressure regulator.

Apply clean engine oil to a new O-ring, and carefully
install it into its proper position.
I n s t a l l t h e f u e l p r e s s u r e r e g u l a t o r i n t h e r e v e r s e
order of removal,
Replace.
