Transmission Housing Bearings
Driven Pulley Shaft Bearing Replacement
'1. To
remove the driven pulley shaft bearing from the
t r a n s m i s s i o n h o u s i n g , e x p a n d t h e s n a p r i n g w i t h
s n a p r i n g p l i e r s , t h e n p u s h t h e b e a r i n g o u t u s i n g
the specialtools and a press as shown.
NOTE: Do not remove the snap ring unless it's nec-
essary to clean the groove in the housing.

SNAP RING

Expand the snap ring with snap ring pliers. insert
the new bearing part-way into the housing using
the special tools and a press as shown. Install the
bearing with the groove facing outside the housing.
N O T E : C o a t a l l p a n s w i t h C V T F l u i d .
Release the pliers. then push the bearing down into
the housing until the ring snaps in place around it,
u s i n g t h e s p e c i a l t o o l s a s s h o w n .

After installing the bearing verify the following:
. The snap ring is seated in the bearing and hous-
Ing gfooves.
. The snap ring operates properly.
. The ring end gap is correct.
