Front Toe Inspection/Adjustment

'1. Check the tire pressure.

Center steering wheel spokes.

Front toe: lN 1 t 2 mm (lN 1/16l: 1/16 in)

lf adjustment is required, go on to step 4.

lf no adjustment is required. remove alignment
e q u i p m e n t .

Loosen the tie-rod locknuts, and turn both tie-rods
in the same direction until the front wheels are in
straight ahead position.
TIE.ROD LOCKNUT
1 4 x 1 . 5 m m
Turn both tie-rods equally until the toe reading on
the turning radius gauge is correct.
After adjusting, tighten the tie-rod locknuts.
NOTE: Reposition the tie-rod boot if it is twisted or
displaced.

1. Release parking brake.
NOTE:
. M e a s u r e d i f f e r e n c e i n t o e m e a s u r e m e n t s w i t h
the wheels pointed straight ahead.
. lf the parking brake is engaged. you may get an
incorrect reading.
Rear toe-in: 2 1i mm ttlte:ljl8 int

lf adjustment is required, go to step 2.

lf no adjustment is required, remove alignment
e q u i p m e n t .
Before adjustment, note the locations of adjusting
bolts on the right and left compensator arms.
Loosen the adjusting bolts. and slide the compen-
sator arm in or out, as shown, to adjust the toe.

4. Tighten the adjusting bolts.

(0.08 in) out of the specification.

M o v e t h e a r m s o t h e a d j u s t i n g b o l t m o v e s 2 m m
(0.08 in) inward from the position recorded before the
adjustment.
- The distance the adjusting bolt is moved should be
equal to the amount out-of-specification.
