Air Conditioning Signal
This signals the ECM/PCM when there is a demand for cooling trom the air conditioning system.

1. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
2. Disconnect the A/C pressure
switch 2P connector (see sec-
t i o n 2 2 ) .
3. Turn the ignition switch ON (ll).
4 . M e a s u r e v o l t a g e b e t w e e n
E C M / P C N 4 c o n n e c t o r t e r m i -
nals C5 and A9.
Chock fo. a short in the wire IACS
linol:
1. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
2. Disconnect the ECM/PCM con-
nector C (31P).
3. Check for continuity between
body ground and ECM/PCM
connector terminal C5,
ls there approx.5 V?
Repair short in the wire botw€sn
the ECM/PCM (Csl .nd the A/C
pro3sura switch.

Substitute a known-good
ECM/PCM and r€chock, lf pro-
acribgd vohago i3 now aveil-
.ble, replace the original ECM/
PCM.

Chock tor an open in the wire
IACC lin.l:
1. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
2, Reconnect the A/C pressure
switch 2P connector.
3. Turn the ignilion switch ON (ll).
4. Momdntan'ly connect ECM/
PCM connectbr terminals A9
and A17 with a iumper wire
severaltimes.
