4.2.4 Install the Barcode Scanner 2-D and the pH electrode
Introduction
This section describes how to install the Barcode Scanner 2-D and the pH electrode.
Install the barcode scanner
Connect the cable of the Barcode Scanner 2-D to the scanner head and to a USB port
on the computer.
Install the pH electrode
If pH monitoring is to be used, you need to replace the dummy electrode mounted at
delivery with a pH electrode.
Follow the instructions to install the pH electrode.

CAUTION
pH electrode. Handle the pH electrode with care. The glass tip may
break and cause injury.
Action
Unpack the pH electrode. Make sure that the electrode is not broken or dry.
Unscrew the dummy electrode from the flow cell.
Pull off the plug from the connector on the front of the pH valve, and store
the plug together with the dummy electrode.
Remove the cover from the tip of the pH electrode.
Carefully insert the electrode in the flow cell. Tighten the locking ring by hand
to secure the electrode.
Connect the pH electrode cable to the connector on front of the pH valve.
