Axis

The target controlled in the motion system is called an axis. Axes are classified into real axes which target the drive units and
the I/O devices connected to the network and virtual axes which virtually generate commands and position in the motion
system.

Maximum number of controlled axes

The maximum number of controlled axes limited by the motion system is the number of real drive axes. The other type of axes
are not counted in the number of axes. Refer to the following table for details.
Axis type
RD78G4
*1
Real drive axis
4 axes
Virtual drive axis
Total 1024 axes
Virtual linked axis
*1 When a multi-axis drive unit and a general output device are used as multiple axes, the number of those axes is counted.
Ex: The 2-axis drive unit is counted as 2 axes.
*2 It is restricted by the system memory capacity.
If the axis setting exceeds the maximum number of controlled axes, the warning "Maximum Setting Axis Number Over
Warning" (warning code: 0F0BH) is output, and the maximum number of axes in ascending order are used for the control and
the other axes are ignored.

Description
Uses the drive unit corresponding to the CiA402 drive profile connected to CC-Link IE TSN.
Included in the number of controlled axes.
Virtually generates commands in the motion system. The real drive unit is not used.
Connects FBs of the single axis synchronous control. Only the minimum data required in the single
axis synchronous control is defined.
