Operational Characteristics:
Rotation speed: between 8000 and 8600 rpm at low speed and between 12500 and 13100
rpm at high speed.
Air flow: 120 l/s at 0,12 psi at low speed, 200 l/s at 0,27 psi at high speed.
C. Detailed Description

The fan includes two parts:
– a mechanical part,
– an electrical part.

Mechanical part
(a)
A fixed mechanical part, with:
– A tubular shaped housing assembly protected by a flat black paint and allowing the fan
installation on the aircraft air conduit,
– An aluminium hub cover protecting the electrical parts. On PNR 00001059 Amdt B,
the hub cover has six drainage holes. On PNR 00001059 Amdt C, the hub cover
has one drainage hole.
– A drain with heat sink function that contains the power board. On PNR 00001059
Amdt B, the drain has twelve drainage holes. On PNR 00001059 Amdt C, the drain
has two drainage holes.
(b)
A mobile mechanical part, with:
– A 7-blade aluminium turbine
– Two life-lubricated tight ball bearings.

Electrical part
(a)
An electronic unit composed of:
– A thermal switch integrated into the winding
– A fault detection module able to detect over-temperature and under-speed
– A current filtering module located on the top of the fan
– A power module located close to the motor, on the end opposite to the impeller
– A command module located under the hub cover.
(b)
A brushless direct current motor with permanent magnets.
