4.7.4 Programming the USER FUNCTIONS Tab (cont.)
To program the USER FUNCTIONS , complete the following steps:
1.
Open the drop-down list in the FUNCTION box, and select the desired
function number ( User Func 1 through User Func 5 ).
2.
In the LABEL box, enter a name for the function. A good choice would be
the measurement type (e.g., velocity, temperature, etc.).
3.
In the UNITS SYMBOL box, enter the units of measure for the function
(e.g., feet/sec, degrees F, etc.).
4.
Open the drop-down list in the DECIMAL box, and select the desired
number of decimal places for the function value ( 0 to 4 ).
5.
Define the User Function by completing the following steps:
a.
Open the drop-down list in the OPERATOR box, and select the desired
mathematical operator (see Table 10 below for the available options).
These operators are used as building blocks to create your function.

b. Click the desired mathematical operator in the list.
c.
If your selection is a mathematical function, click the MODE operator
in the table, and enter your desired data source and channel. Then,
click the SELECT button to confirm your selections or click the
DELETE
d. After you have completed defining your function from the available
operators, click the SAVE button to save the user function to the PT900
memory.
