Dual Hand Terminal

The ADTS542, ADTS552, ADTS553 or ADTS554 utilizing DK0467 software can be operated with two hand
terminals. DK0429 does not support this functionality (either ADTS TOUCH or ADTS TOUCH-ER units).
Only one of the units (the 'Master') can control the ADTS. The second unit (the 'Slave') operates as a
display when the Master is connected. The hand terminals can be connected to the controller in three
ways:
Docked (sitting on top of the unit, on the docking connector)
Via Umbilical Cable
Via Bluetooth wireless connection.
The allocation of Master and Slave status when two hand terminals are used is shown in the following
table:
Configuration
Umbilical/Docked
Umbilical/Bluetooth
Docked/Bluetooth
Bluetooth/Bluetooth
If one of the hand terminals is connected via Bluetooth, this will always be the Master, and the second
unit (either umbilical or docked) will be the Slave. All control parameters and ADTS setting entry shall be
disabled on the slave unit. In the event that the Master communication is lost, the slave shall become the
master until such time as the link is re-established. The Slave unit can be distinguished from the Master
visually, as it includes a "REMOTE" banner on the display at all times when it is in Slave mode:
