IGNITION SYSTEM
Measure the spark plug gap and
perform the spark test
Gap: 0.6~0.7 mm (0.024~0.028 in)
No spark
Replace the spark plug with a new one
and check for spark.
No spark
Check for current leakage caused by
damaged insulator of the high tension
cord.
Good insulation
Measure the ignition coil resistance
P. 7-8, P. 7-14.
Primary side: 0.75 ~ 0.92 Ω
Secondary side: 6.0 ~ 9.3 kΩ
Correct resistance
Check the air gap P. 7-9,
P. 2-14.
P. 7-15.
Good spark
Keep the new spark plug.
Insulation failure
Replace the ignition coil
Abnormal
resistance
Replace the ignition coil
Abnormal
Adjust the air gap
