1. SERVICE RULES
• Use genuine Honda parts or their exact equivalent. Lower quality parts can damage the trimmer/brush cutter or reduce its
performance.
• Use only metric tools when servicing this unit. Metric bolts, nuts, and screws are not interchangeable with non-metric fasteners.
The use of incorrect tools and fasteners will damage the unit.
• Use the special tools designed for the product.
• Install new gaskets, O-rings, and seals during reassembly.
• When tightening nuts and bolts, begin with the larger-diameter or inner bolts, and tighten diagonally to the specified torque values,
unless a particular tightening sequence is specified.
• When tightening self-tapping screws, be especially careful to avoid cross-threading or overtightening.
• Clean parts in nonflammable solvent after disassembly.
• Lubricate sliding surfaces before reassembly.
• After reassembly, check parts installation and operation.

Use the recommend engine oil, unless otherwise specified.
Use multi-purpose grease (lithium based multi-purpose grease NLGI #2 or equivalent).
Apply a locking agent. Use a medium strength locking agent unless otherwise specified.
Apply sealant.
