6. GEAR CASE
REMOVAL
1. Clean around the gear case area before starting work to
prevent dirt from entering the drive cable and bushing area.
2. Remove the 5 x 12 mm bolt/washer.
3. Loosen and/or remove the two 5 x 25 mm bolt/washers.
4. Remove the gear case assembly.
INSTALLATION
1. Align the gear case 5 mm hole with the frame pipe hole. It may
be necessary to rotate the output shaft to help the drive cable
align with the input shaft square drive. Install and tighten the
5 x 12 mm bolt/washer to the specified torque.
TORQUE: 2.5 N•m (0.25 kg•m, 22 in•lb)
2. After tightening the 5 x 12 mm bolt/washer, tighten the two
5 x 25 mm bolt/washers to the specified torque.
TORQUE: 5.6 N•m (0.60 kg•m, 50 in•lb)
