Two devices are given the same address. Loop breaker
(relay contacts) are fused 'micro welded' together
(closed) or there is a bad connection.
Loop breaker relay has not closed or serial line End-2
is faulty or relay is stuck i.e. closed. The device may
not be correctly fitted.
Loop wiring is incorrect, eg a sub loop may have been
wired on a spur.
Loop processor has run out of memory during
allocation / when starting a loop.
An attempt to allocate a loop when it is already
allocating.
The loop circuit has been successfully allocated.
No devices found on End-1 or End 1 of the loop is
open circuit.
Allocated more than 200 devices or the device is
restricted for use with the particular software version.

Check the device wiring. The device may be
faulty, replace if required.

Check and rewire if necessary. This fault can
also be device failure.
Software error or more likely a faulty RAM
chip.
Wait and if it takes longer than 10 minutes then
reset the loop card.

device on the loop.
Replace incompatible devices used on other
systems ie:32000 or SMS device found in
system.
Check the device. Also check cable routing and
length (measure resistance and capacitance of
cable).
