Retrieve Configuration
The Genesis Touch can be configured for patient use from LifeStream (recom-
mended) as well as from the monitor. When placing a monitor in the home, we rec-
ommend that you retrieve a configuration first, before changing any settings on
the monitor. To do this, it is recommended to select the Retrieve Configuration
button.
Also, whenever you attempt to exit the General Settings screen, you will be
prompted to sync the with LifeStream. If you answer Yes to this question, the con-
figuration changes you made at the monitor will be uploaded to LifeStream so that
the monitor and LifeStream are in synchronization. If you change settings on the
monitor prior to retrieving configurations from LifeStream it will overwrite any
pending configurations in LifeStream. If you do not want the configuration from
the monitor to overwrite the pending LifeStream configuration, you must answer
No to this question.
Verifying Communication
To verify that communications with LifeStream are enabled and available, select
Check Communications.
Messages similar to the screen on the right
appear in the window telling you the status of
communications.
The screen will indicate that the monitor and
Lifestream are communicating.
Sending a Configuration
You have the ability to configure changes (including scheduling, questions, timing,
etc.) for this patient at the monitor and upload them to LifeStream. These changes
may overwrite a configuration that currently exists in LifeStream for this monitor.
To send the configuration you have set up in the monitor to LifeStream select the
Send Configuration button while on the LifeStream menu.
Sending Test Vital Signs
Send a test vital signs packet to verify that your monitor is transmitting properly,
after a monitor has been assigned. This test message shows up as an empty packet
in LifeStream and confirms communications. The test may then be responded to.
Be aware that once sent, it may take a few minutes for LifeStream to display this
test. To send a test message, select Send Test Vitals.
