SATELLITE or CABLE BOX with VCR

Connect Satellite or Cable Box to SVR Recorder
Choose the best video cable connections available
on your set top box:
(good) RF coaxial cable
(better) Composite video
with R/L audio cables (shown)
(best)
S·Video cable with R/L audio cables
Connect the video cable from your set top box's
output to the SVR Recorder's input,
see~,
(example is shown with composite).
Connect the SVR Recorder to your VCR and TV
Choose the best video cable connection available on
your VCR and connectthe SVR Recorder's output to
the VCR input, see G(example is shown with
composite).
Connect another video cable from the VCR's output
to the TV's input, see e(example is shown with
composite).
Note: If you used RF coax cable as your video cable
from the SVR Recorder's output, then set the SVR
Recorder Ch 3/4 switch and your TV to the same
channel.
Connect the SVR Recorder to cable or satellite box
If your satellite box has a serial input. connect the
serial control cable from the SVR Recorder's upper
Control Out to your satellite box. You may need to
use the ada..e!er or the alternate Home Control
Cable, see
e .
If your cable or satellite box does not have a serial
input. connect the IR Control Cable from the SVR
Recorder and attach one of the emitters to your
cable or satellite box in front of the IR window,
see
O.
(You should ignore the second emitter
unless your connection setup includes both a cable
box and a satellite box, in which case refer to the
Setup Guide
page 30.)
Connect Phone and Power
When you are done connecting everything, see
"Connect a telephone line" and "Power on and tune
your TV" below, right.
