Creating new waypoints
Entering waypoints numerically
To enter waypoints numerically:
1. Press WAYPTS/ROUTES.

Local Waypoints screen
New...
3. Press to display the New Waypoint
screen.

4. Enter a waypoint name and optional descrip-
tion.
Press (several times if necessary) the key
on the 972 keypad that contains the letter
or digit you wish to enter. Press the cursor
pad when necessary to move the cursor to
the next character.
5. Choose a symbol for the waypoint by repeat-

6. Enter the waypoint's coordinates. To switch
between displaying coordinates as lat/lon, as
