Symptom
The transformer
trips during
power-on.
The transformer
is overheated.
Issue 02 (2022-07-18)
Possible Cause
If the noise is generated
intermittently:
● The system voltage
fluctuates greatly.
● The harmonic
component is large or
the power frequency is
low.
The load is not cut off.
The coil vector group is
incorrect.
The shock current exceeds
the tripping threshold
(overcurrent or differential
trip signal).
System insulation fault
(overcurrent or differential
trip signal):
● The transformer is
faulty.
● The line or monitoring
device between the
switch and the
transformer is faulty.
The heat dissipation
environment of the
transformer is poor, the
heat dissipation space is
limited, or the transformer
room is not ventilated.
Overload
The load contains excessive
harmonic or system
overvoltage occurs.
The iron core has multiple
grounding points.

Suggestion
● Record the relationship between the
transformer noise and the system voltage in
different periods and rectify the voltage
fluctuation problem.
● Contact the electric power company.
Turn off the switch on the outlet side to switch
on the transformer in no-load state.
Check the vector group and phase sequence.
● If a wave recording diagram is available,
check and analyze the diagram and contact
transformer technical support.
● If no exception is found in the system, check
the protection parameter settings. If
necessary, adjust the settings and switch on
the circuit breaker again.
Check whether a fault occurs on the live
network.
● Check the transformer appearance. If no
exception or odor is found, the transformer
is normal.
● Check the insulation status of cables and
transformers.
Improve the heat dissipation environment of
the transformer room. Reserve ventilation vents
at the top and bottom of the transformer room.
If necessary, add exhaust fans to facilitate air
circulation.
Check the load current. Adjust the current if it
is too high.
Contact the electric power company.
Check the iron core grounding system and
handle the grounding fault.
