9.3 Component Replacement

9.3.1 Replacing a CIM

Prerequisites


Context
If a CIM becomes faulty during system running, the CIM should be replaced promptly.
Procedure
Step 1 Clear the network parameters for all the BIMs managed by the CIM to be replaced.

Alarm Severity
Minor
In the scenario where the iBOX connects to the UPS, if BCB connection, Battery
breaker, and Batt. abnormal BCB trip are set to Enable in the UPS MDU, when a
Single Batt. terminal off alarm is raised, the system automatically controls the BCB to
disconnect.
If the fault persists, contact Huawei technical support.
A CIM needs to be replaced.
A spare CIM of the same model is available and functional.

Possible Cause
The iBAT and the iBOX
fail to communicate
properly.
9 Maintenance
Solution
1. Check that the iBAT
Number of iBOX is set
correctly.
2. Check the iBAT
indicator. If the indicator
is off, press the iBAT
networking switch to
light it up.
3. Check whether the iBOX
is shielded from the
iBAT.
4. Check the iBAT cable
connections. Reconnect
the cable to the panel of
the iBAT that fails in
communication.
5. Check the iBAT and
replace the iBAT that
fails in communication.
