7.51 Removing the Front Hard Disk Backplane

Remove the front hard disk backplane before replacing it with a new one.
Procedure
Step 1 Wear an ESD wrist strap. For details, see
Step 2 Determine the rack number and chassis number of the server to be removed, and label its
panel to prevent misoperations.
Step 3 Power off the 5288 V3. For details, see
Step 4 Remove all external cables such as power and network cables.
Step 5 Remove the 5288 V3 and put it on an ESD desktop. For details, see
Server.
Step 6 Remove the chassis cover. For details, see
Step 7 Remove all hard disks. For details, see
Step 8 Remove the air duct. For details, see
Step 9 Remove all fan modules. For details, see
Step 10 Remove the fan module bracket. For details, see
Step 11 Remove the cables between the front hard disk backplane and the mainboard and between the
front hard disk backplane and the RAID controller card. For details, see
Cabling.
Step 12 Loosen the screws. See (1) in
part marked with a red box in
backplane, and remove the hard disk backplane horizontally in the arrow direction. See (3) in
