The VLX supports direct-connect using the EIA-232 port (male DB-9) on the
lower left of the VLX. The EIA-232 port supports direct connection of a
Compass operator workstation or external modem.

the range 1–65,534 (and not 0) is highly
re comme nde d for fle xibility and future
compliance .

TP LAN. Each BACne t de vice on an MS /TP
LAN mus t have a unique MAC addre s s . VLXs /
ACM-VLXs are s hippe d with a de fault MS /TP
MAC addre s s of 0.
S e ts the communication s pe e d for the MS /TP
LAN.

communications . Ens ure that s e ttings on the
othe r e nd of the conne ction match.
ON allows the de vice to poll the EIA-232 line
for an e xis ting PTP conne ction, typically
us e d whe n inte grating with BACne t-
compliant e quipme nt (chille rs , boile rs , e tc.)
ove r the PTP conne ction. OFF dis able s the
VLX from polling, but doe s not dis able the
port. S e t to OFF if you are conne cting an
