repeat timer: Specifies the time interval between repetitions of an outgoing
message when unacknowledged-repeated service is used.
Standard Network Variables (pronounced "snivets"): SNVTs are a set of
predefined types of network variables with associated units, such as degrees
Celsius, volts, or meters. Standard Network Variable Type. SNVTs facilitate
interoperability by providing a well-defined interface for communication between
nodes. For the list of SNVT's, see the SNVT Master List and Programmer's Guide.
status: The I/O function used in conjunction with Compact ACU controllers shows,
inter alia, the application status information.
subnet: A subnet is a logical collection of up to 127 nodes or devices within a
domain.
SysMik GmbH: The Dresden-based company which manufactures the
ALTOhandheld upon which Honeywell's XILON Handheld Tool for Wiring Checks is
based.
third-party node: Non-Honeywell devices present in the L
transaction timer: One of the numerous LonTalk protocol timers referred to
collectively as the "Layer 4 Timers" which are typically configured automatically by
a network management tool. LonBuilder and NetMaker automatically calculate and
configure these timers. The transaction timer determines how long the node waits
for an acknowledgement before retrying. The value of the transaction timer used by
the node is taken from the transmitting node's address table entry for the
destination address of the packet being sent. The transaction timer is individually
configurable by destination address in the address table.
