Explanation/Action
XILON and the node you are searching for must be located on the same domain,
i.e. their domain lengths and domain IDs must be the same.
To determine a device's domain length and domain ID, press its service pin and
use the <F5> hot key to view its domain table entries. Then change XILON's
settings accordingly using the <F10> hot key.
A router located between the node which you are attempting to access and your
XILON is acting as a barrier.
Explanation/Action
Intelligent routers (i.e. learning routers or configured routers) can influence the
transmission of communications between the different channels which they connect
and act as filters or barriers. Depending upon the router's configuration and its
network topology, this can adversely affect and even completely sever
communications between your XILON and the node which you are attempting to
access. In this case, you should try connecting your XILON directly with the
channel of the node you are attempting to access; you might try doing this by using
an additional router which has been configured as a repeater. Under some
circumstances, assigning a new subnet address to your XILON may alleviate the
problem (re-assigning the subnet address requires a good understanding of the
network topology).
The node which you are attempting to access and your XILON have the same
network address.
Explanation/Action
Nodes use their network addresses to send messages. A node's network address
consists of three components: 1) the domain to which it belongs, 2) the subnet to
which it belongs within the domain, and 3) its node number within the subnet.
Assign a different subnet address and/or node address to your XILON.
The node which you are attempting to access and/or your XILON require / make
use of authentication.
Explanation/Action
In order to be able to communicate with each other, your XILON and the node
which you are attempting to access must make use of the same authentication
code. Adjust the setting of your XILON accordingly. In doing so, bear in mind that
authenticated nodes are frequently entrusted with critical security tasks, and that
manipulating such nodes can have serious repercussions.
Your XILON is "unconfigured" state.
Explanation/Action
Your XILON can be in any one of the three following states: 1) configured/online, 2)
configured/offline, 3) unconfigured, and 4) applicationless. Place your XILON in the
"configured/online" state. Before doing this, it may be necessary for you to first
assign an appropriate address (domain / subnet / node) to your XILON.
You are using an incorrect search filter.
