Getting Started
This section provides important information that you need to know before you start using the
Honeywell HomMed Genesis™ DM Monitor.
Indications for use
The Genesis DM monitor is intended for use as a medical data collection and transmission system for
adult and pediatric patients over twelve years of age.
The Genesis DM monitor is an integrated medical device that measures weight, blood pressure, and
heart rate. An optional attachment collects oxygen saturation (SpO
) readings. Data is collected and

transmitted to a central site for retrospective clinician review, evaluation, and trending.
The Genesis DM monitor is not an emergency medical response device. The monitor does not have
auditory or visual alarms for out-of-limit parameters.
The Genesis DM monitor does not provide real-time, critical-care monitoring of patient vital signs. All
data is transmitted to the LifeStream™ platform and Central Station 3.5 (Central Station) and examined
in a retrospective manner by qualified health professionals.

This manual provides the concepts and instructions needed to install, program, use, and maintain the
Honeywell HomMed Genesis DM monitor. Administrative management, clinicians, and technical support
staff will find the information in this guide helpful.
