Do not use the RPD unless the battery is fully charged. Failure to use a fully charged battery can unexpectedly expose the worker to serious injury or illness.

Storage, Shelf-Life and Disposal

When stored in the original packaging, the 700 Series battery packs have a minimum shelf-life of 1 year from the date of manufacture. To prolong the life of your battery pack, always maintain at least 30% charge and store in cool to

room temperatures, approximately 5°C to 20°C.

The use of the WEEE Symbol indicates that this product may not be treated as household waste. By ensuring this product is disposed of correctly, you will help protect the environment. For more detailed information about

the recycling of this product, please contact your local authority, your household/ industrial waste disposal service provider or the shop where you purchased the product.

The Primair 700 Series RPD will alert the user when the battery charge or air-flow level is too low. The table below describes these alarm events in more detail. In the event of any alarm, leave the contaminated area as soon as it is safe

to do so.

The low battery alarm alerts you at estimated remaining run times. The exact time remaining may be less. The battery must be replaced in a clean area away from any contaminants. If you remain in the contaminated

area while changing the battery pack, you risk exposure to hazardous gases or vapors that could result in serious bodily injury, illness or death.

Leave the contaminated area immediately when you hear, feel or see a "low battery" or "low air-flow" alarm. Remaining in the contaminated area will expose the user to risk of serious illness, bodily injury or death.

PUTTING ON THE RPD ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

1) Inspect all components and check that the filter is attached to the blower unit. Verify that your RPD is supplying sufficient air (see section "Power on and verify the airflow with the flow indicator")

2) Being in safe and uncontaminated area, don the blower assembly.

3) Put on and position the blower assembly on your back. (Fig. 9a/ 9b)

4) Snap the side-release buckles together at the front of your waist (Fig. 10a) or chest (Fig. 10b).

5) Tighten harness by pulling on the free ends (Fig. 11a/ 11b). Tighten until the RPD unit is snug around your waist. Make sure that the belt is not twisted or caught in any garments. The comfort pad, blower assembly and battery

should be positioned in the middle of your lower back. If you will be sitting, position the assembly slightly higher above your waist in the middle of your back. The belt buckle should be placed on the central portion in front of you.

6) Use the clips on the belt to retain the excess strap material. (Fig. 11a/ 11b)

7) Connect the breathing hose to the air intake by twisting the connector clockwise until it locks. Once installed, pull gently on the hose connector to verify it is secure.

8) To turn on the RPD, press and hold the round power button for 3 seconds until the unit begins its power-on sequence, during which the display LEDs will flash, the unit will vibrate and emit an audible beep.

9) With the blower assembly powered on, don the approved respiratory interface; refer to its user instruction for proper donning techniques.

DURING USE __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Be careful about the following warnings when using the RPD.

Immediately leave the work area and/or replace the RPD if;

1. breathing becomes difficult;

2. dizziness or other distress occurs;

3. the RPD is damaged;

4. the air flow into the respiratory interface decreases significantly or stops; or

5. the warning is activated (see section "Alarms").

Should any of these occur, and you remain in the contaminated work area, you risk exposure to hazardous quantities of the air contaminant which can result in serious injury, illness or death.

MANUAL FLOW ADJUSTMENT ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

This feature available only for the blower unit with loose-fitting configuration. In tight-fitting applications, a single air-flow mode is automatically selected and the air-flow mode button is disabled.

In loose-fitting applications, as a default upon startup, the Primair 700 Series RPD will automatically maintain the required minimum air-flow rate for safe operation. However, if desired, users can manually increase the air-flow rate.

1) While the unit is powered on, momentarily press the square air-flow button. The RPD will emit a series of beeps and the air-flow display will change according to the level selected.

2) If the RPD is operating in high-flow mode, pressing the air-flow button will return the unit back to default (low-flow) mode.

Doffing of your RPD

To turn the RPD off, press and hold the round power button until the unit emits an audible beep and powers down. For removing the respiratory interface refer to the instruction manual.

Before removing your respiratory interface, you must leave the contaminated area. Failure to follow this instruction may result in bodily injury, illness or death.
