Configuring BSRs
You configure BSRs by selecting candidate BSRs and RPs.
Caution
Do not configure both Auto-RP and BSR protocols in the same network.
You can configure a candidate BSR with the arguments described on the Table below.

Purpose
Enters global configuration mode.
Configures a PIM6 static RP address for a
multicast group range. You can specify a
route-map policy name that lists the group
prefixes to use with the match ip multicast
command. The mode is ASM unless you specify
the bidir keyword. The default group range is
ff00::0/8.
Example 1 configures PIM6 ASM mode for the
specified group range.
Example 2 configures PIM6 Bidir mode for the
specified group range.

Description
Interface type and number used to derive the BSR
source IP address used in bootstrap messages.
