Testing the Operator-Presence

Procedure
Important: If your machine fails any of the following
tests, do not operate the machine; contact an Authorized
Service Dealer.
1. At the backhoe operator panel, perform the following
tests:
A. Stand on the walkway.
B. Move the bucket and dipper control (the leftmost
control) to the left (curl or "crowd in" the bucket)

Note: The bucket should not move.
C. Sit in the backhoe operator seat.
D. Move the bucket and dipper control to the left
and then to the right
Note: The bucket should curl and then extend.
E. Press the E-stop button
Note: The engine of the traction unit should
stop.

2. Release the engine stop switch by pulling up the E-stop
button.
3. Rotate the key switch on the machine to the Off
position.
