Chapter 9 Communication
Connectivity card
The UPS Network Management Card (NMC) allows the UPS to communicate in Ethernet
environments. The card has SNMP and HTTP capabilities as well as monitoring through a Web
browser interface. In addition, an Environmental Monitoring Probe can be attached to obtain
humidity, temperature, smoke alarm, and security information.
The unit has one available communication bay for the UPS Network Management Card. See

Replacing the communication card
Follow these steps to replace the UPS Network Management Card.
Step 1. Turn off the UPS.
Step 2. Disconnect the network cable.
Step 3. Remove the connector panel blank (
Step 4. Insert the UPS Network Management Card into the slot.
Step 5. Secure the panel by tightening the two screws.
Note: The NMC can be hot plugged, that is, it can be installed or removed whilst the UPS unit is up
and running.
