5.4.1.6 Replacing a Fire Alarm Horn/Strobe

Prerequisites
A spare fire alarm horn/strobe of the same model is available and functional.
Impact on the System
The fire extinguishing system stops working during the replacement.
Prerequisites
Tools: Phillips screwdriver, flat-head screwdriver, step ladder
Material: spare fire alarm horn/strobe
Document: fire extinguishing device layout diagram (standard)
Skill requirement: fire engineer
Procedure
Step 1 Switch off the active and standby power supplies to the fire alarm control panel.
Step 2 Pry open a seam at the top clip using a flat-head screwdriver to separate the top
cover from the base.

Before replacing the fire alarm horn/strobe, inform the related administration department
of the temporary downtime of the fire extinguishing system. After the replacement, inform
the administration department that the system has become operational.
