Procedure
Step 1 Use a Phillips screwdriver to turn the M6 ground screw anticlockwise to remove it from the
cabinet.
Step 2 Hitch the terminal of the yellowish green ground cable that is provided with the MCU to the
ground screw.
Step 3 Fasten the ground screw to the ground hole securely.
Step 4 Connect the other end of the ground cable to the ground bar on the MCU.

2.2.3 Connecting the Network Cable
To enable 8650C to function correctly, connect the GE0 port in the board front panel to a
gigabit switch.
Procedure
Step 1 Plug the RJ-45 connector at one end of the network cable to the GE0 port of the 8650C.
Step 2 Plug the RJ-45 connector at the other end of the network cable to a switch.

2.2.4 Connecting the Serial Cable
Procedure
Step 1 Connect the DB9 (DB25) connector to the serial port of the computer or terminal router on
which you will configure the MCU.
Step 2 Connect the RJ-45 connector of the serial cable to the RS-232 serial port on the MCU.

Issue 10 (2013-07-20)
The M6 ground screw located at the lower left side of the back of the MCU cabinet is
used to connect with the ground cable. Ensure that the section area of the ground cable is
equal to or larger than 6 mm
If the video firewall is adopted for networking or if the function of network interface backup is required,
connect a network cable to the GE1 network interface by using the method for connecting a network
cable to the GE0 network interface.
