Clean Debris from Engine

Note: Perform this maintenance procedure at the in-
terval specified in the Operator's Manual or Chapter 2
– Product Records and Maintenance.
IMPORTANT: This engine is air–cooled. Operating
the engine with dirty or plugged cooling fins, a
blocked rotating screen, or plugged or dirty blower
housing will result in overheating and engine dam-
age.
1. Park machine on a level surface, stop engine, en-
gage parking brake, and remove key from the ignition
switch.
2. Raise bed and support with prop rod (see Operator's
Manual).
IMPORTANT: Never clean engine with pressurized
water. Water could enter and contaminate the fuel
system.
3. Clean cooling fins on both cylinder heads (Fig. 13).
4. Clean rotating screen and blower housing of dirt and
debris. Remove screen and housing if necessary
(Fig.14).
IMPORTANT: Never operate engine without the
blower housing installed. Overheating and engine
damage will result.
5. Make sure rotating screen and blower housing are
reinstalled to the engine if removed.
